Alexander Guryev from Yakutsk became the champion of Belarus in Greco-Roman wrestling
For the first time in history, a wrestler from Yakutia wins the Greco-Roman wrestling championship of Belarus. Alexander Guryev from the village of Betyung, Amga region, received a gold medal in the 55 kg weight category, having won three victories in different fights.
In the final, the Amginian met with the Belarusian wrestler Maxim Stupakevich, who is the winner of European and international tournaments in Greco-Roman wrestling.
By the way, fellow villagers of Alexander Guryev are the current European freestyle wrestling champion Vladimir Yegorov, Nadezhda Sergeeva-But and coach Kirill Pavlov, who leaves with Alexander at the Olympic Reserve School. Guryev was also trained by the senior coach of the Yakutia Greco-Roman wrestling team Matvey Matveev and Rustam Adzhi.
Amginets entered the UOR in 2015. He won the championships of the Far Eastern Federal District in Greco-Roman wrestling. In 2020, he entered NEFU, and a year later he left for Belarus. There Guryev deservedly youth championship under 23 years old, deservedly two master tournaments – he became the master of sports of Belarus, the Universiade among students of Belarus.
