Road accidents, black bulletin for the month of May and thumbs down for the highway which is confirmed as the most dangerous artery. The Civil Police Corps draws up the balance sheet of the activities carried out in the year that has just ended.
Specifically, 218 accidents involving 419 people were involved, including 265 who were unharmed, 153 injured with one deceased. As for road safety photography, 10 pedestrians, 11 cyclists, 28 citizens riding mopeds and 38 centaurs were involved. Data in hand, the month that recorded the most accidents was May with 26, followed by November with 25. The expressway is confirmed as the stretch with the highest number of accidents (49). Considering the age group, the one between 35 and 49 years prevails for a total of 96 people, of which 30 injured.
As for the checks, there are 24,551 in 1,055 checkpoints with 863 administrative sanctions. As many as 105 complaints of which 80 for driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Among the investigations there are 2 for the crime of persecution and 22 for family or condominium disputes but also 2 for aggression with dogs. Meanwhile, the Traffic Section issued 4,066 fines while the Fines Office carried out 360 checks, reaching a total of 4,729 fines. The total number of fines imposed by the civil police is 12,151 for a value of approximately 1,360,000 euros, 58.7% imposed on residents of San Marino. The penalties due to excess speed ascertained by speed camera tools are instead 6,744 for a value of approximately 900 thousand euros.
The activity of the information and investigative sector of the judicial police dealt with 66 files corresponding to as many criminal proceedings. Finally, with regard to the theft emergency, we recall the arrest of a person believed to be involved in thefts in apartments in Montegiardino and the discovery of a stolen vehicle in Borgo Maggiore. As far as health and hygiene inspections are concerned, they led to 14 precautionary detention measures with seizure of food products, 54 inspections in the food, cosmetics, swimming facilities and medical devices sectors.
