Geneva – Lugano 4:7
Everything was done for the undisputed victory of the table leader: After 20 minutes, Geneva led 3-0 against Lugano, the recently weak Luganesi had completely overslept the first third. But in the middle third, Lugano showed himself completely changed and managed the turning point that was hardly thought possible. After Brett Connolly’s 1:3 (22nd), Daniel Carr, Calvin Thürkauf and Mark Arcobello needed just under 5 minutes for the 4:3 lead. Arcobello later awarded his outstanding performance with 2 more goals to make it 7:4. Lugano thus prevented the 4th defeat in a row – Geneva remains the leader.
Bern – Rapperswil 5: 6
The game between Bern and Rapperswil-Jona was triggered for a long time. Only at the beginning of the final third was a team able to pull away with a 2-goal difference. It was the guests – Jordan Schroeder (43rd) and Petr Cajka (46th) scored the goals to make it 5:3. But even after the 6: 3 by Roman Cervenka (56th), the Bernese still showed morale. Tyler Ennis (the only double scorer of the game) and Oscar Lindberg reduced the score to 5:6 – but the equalizer didn’t materialise. Rapperswil-Jona had previously reacted quickly to a deficit twice in the starting phase and, among other things, shines with a double strike within 29 seconds.
Freiburg – Biel 3:6
Biel showed no signs of weakness in the game against Fribourg-Gottéron and won 6:3. Even a goalie change at Freiburg when the score was 1:3 didn’t help: the young Loïc Galley had to be defeated after just 2 minutes in his first 3rd Bundesliga game in a row. By the end of the game, the 20-year-old had conceded two more goals. Thanks to the win, Biel comes closer to leader Geneva and is only 1 point behind in 2nd place.
Lausanne – Kloten 3: 4
In the duel of 2 surprise teams this season – Lausanne in a negative way, Kloten in a positive way – the promoted team kept the better end for themselves. Kloten surprised Lausanne with the 0:1 after just 96 seconds, but the home team then woke up and was 3:1 by the 29th minute. The people of Zurich didn’t let that sit on them: Arttu Ruotsalainen and Axel Simic’s second goal made it 3:3 before the final third. In the 48th minute, Eric Faille made the decision through the legs of Ivars Punnenovs. The 5: 3 of the Vaud against Freiburg last Saturday was not the desired liberation, but only an outlier upwards.
SCL Tigers – Ajoie 2: 3 a.e.t
Ajoie continues to show upward trends with coach Julien Vauclair: In Langnau they celebrated their 5th win from the last 7 games and showed morale. Although the Jurassians didn’t play worse, they were 2-0 down after the first period. Due to a careless loss of a disc by the Tigers (25th) and a powerplay goal (35th), extra time had to decide. There, TJ Brennan made it 3-2 with a powerful shot. The strangest scene had already occurred in the 5th minute: the puck suddenly landed in the Langnauer goal coming from the side – the defective net meant it a little too well with Ajoie. Of course, the “hit” doesn’t count.
