In August 2022, a departure of Judite Sousa from CNN Portugal generated an unprecedented controversy in the world of television journalism, with a journalist announcing that he had “denounced the contract for green receipts” and with the management of the news channel in Queluz de Baixo responding, on two different occasionsto Judite’s emotions, one of which was live on “Jornal da Uma”.
The 62-year-old journalist’s passage through the information channel, which lasted less than a year, will be one of the topics covered in “Pedaços de Vida”, a memoir that hits bookstores on January 23. “When, in March 2022, I went to Ukraine on business, the comment was posted on social media: ‘The little voice went to war.’ This sentence is a revolver.”can be read in an excerpt from the work, sent in a statement by the publisher Penguin Random House (the same as “In the Shadow”, Prince Harry’s memoir).
The death of his son André will also be addressed in “Pedaços de Vida”, which the publisher describes as “frank, intimate and profound”. “The environment generated around the death of my son is a situation that I regret the most in my entire life.”, still writes a journalist. André Sousa Bessa died in June 2014 at the age of 29, following an accident in a swimming pool.
