Have you seen this circular mark in Portugal? Arrived in force in 2022
AN Polestar started sales in Portugal in June 2022 and December of the same year registered around 115 exact copies.
If you’ve already broken down on the road with a copy with the symbol you can see above, know that Polestar is a Swedish brand, a subsidiary of Volvo, which only sells electric vehicles.
In June, sales in Portugal started with the Polestar 2, which has three different versions.
The standard single-engine range version will have a 170 kW/330 Nm electric motor and a 69 kWh battery enabling a WLTP range of up to 474 km, while the long-range single-engine version will increase battery capacity to 78 kWh with a corresponding leap in its range of 542 km.
The long-range dual-motor version is equipped with two electric motors and a 78 kWh battery, having a total power of 300 kW and 660 Nm, with a WLTP range of up to 482 km.
Since June, Polestar has already offered test drives to interested customers in Lisbon, Porto or the Algarve. Remember that prices for Polestar 2 start at 49,900 euros.
However, with the launch of Polestar 3, pre-orders have also opened. From 94,900 euros you can order this car on the Polestar Portugal website, although deliveries to customers will only start at the end of this year.
“The electric car market in Portugal is booming, bringing Polestar to the country was a logical step for the brand. We are excited to bring a genuinely attractive option to the premium compact segment and to offer the Portuguese an innovative and sustainable electric car that presents itself as an alternative to current gasoline or diesel engines”, said Miguel Pinto, general director of Polestar Portugal, in May 2022.
