Winter news from Go to Lisbon
The cold weather brought news to Go a Lisboa, which opened in midsummer and gave new life to Casa de Goa and the Alcântara area in Lisbon. For a month now, there has been a new space, new menus and the rooftop protected from rain, wind and low temperatures.
This terrace, which opened up new views of the city and was one of the sensations of the last summer in the capital, intends to continue to be everyone’s meeting point, rain or shine. With a harmonic glass wall, heaters and a roof, it remains comfortable, welcoming and a privileged place to enjoy the landscape with the 25 de Abril bridge as a backdrop.
Another novelty is an interior space called, at least for now, Go a Lisboa Pop Up Supper Club. “We are still weekly updating the space, the furniture, more novelties that bring together the kitchen and the bar in a bold and innovative concept and, once completed, including an incredible unique lighting concept, it will receive its new final name”, say those responsible from Go to Lisbon in a statement.
There’s a lot on offer here. “It’s a place to enjoy drinks, multiple a la carte dishes created by the talented Chef Inga Martin and, in our case, live music on some days or other entertainment on display and even a piece of dancing to the sound of DJs”, they explain. .
At the entrance, right in the center of the room, we find the bar, square, with 20 seats all around, and three cocktail stations. In the background, the dance floor, another bar and dining tables. The light is dim, but the Portuguese marble stands out.
Whatever the space, and whatever type of meal you prefer – lunch, dinner, breakfast, brunch, or family or corporate event -, the gastronomic suggestions are on behalf of chef Inga Martin, born in Coimbra, but influenced by father and paternal grandparents, Guineans, already kept a lot of spices. For Go a Lisboa, where there is more than just Goan food, I thought of two different menus, one for each space.
At the Rooftop you can start with a camel samosa and mint yogurt (3€), go on to a shrimp curry with coconut and spices (18€) or a chicken chacuti (14€), ending with a drink (8€). . But the flavors of Goa do not dominate and there are options with other seasonings and an offer even more dedicated to vegetarian and vegan dishes. Not forgetting the brunch options, ranging from toast, croissants and eggs to more elaborate dishes such as Hokkaido Pumpkin, white bean purée, tahini and harissa sauce (10€) or pork belly shards, chicory, cucumber, pickles of onion and citrus mayonnaise (9€) or a bowl of quinoa, mango, red onion, cucumber, cherry tomato, coriander, tahini sauce with avocado (12€).
At the Pop Up Super Club, you can try the oxtail and mustard croquettes (6€), the tiger prawns, miso butter and orange furikake (24€), the veal tartar and crunchy noori seaweed (10 €) or Scallops with Sumac (7.5€). Finally, a decadent chocolate (6€) or a thousand leaves of Amareto (7.5€).
To all this is added a playful but refined cocktail menu, which also has a wide selection of Portuguese and international beers, spirits, wines, mocktails, kombuchas, ciders, among other proposals.
The yoga sessions are also back, already waiting for a scheduled one for next Sunday at the price of 25 euros.
