San Marino. Juvenes celebrates its first 70 years and pays homage to Don Peppino
The Società Sportiva Juvenes of Serravalle celebrates its 70th year of foundation.
“It is a coveted and prestigious goal that represents the long sporting journey of the long-lived and historic sports club of San Marino”, explains the newly 70-year-old in a statement Youth Sports Society of Serravalle.
“It was 1953 when a young chaplain arrived in the Parish of Sant’Andrea di Serravalle, with the parish priest don Tullio Gabellini, don Giuseppe Innocentini, for all ‘don Peppino’, one of the first initiatives and activities put in place by the young and dynamic priest decides to found Juvenes, from the Latin ‘Youth’, name chosen by Carlo Franciosi and collected the first collaborators to himself to start and plan sports activities with the historic disciplines of football, cycling and table tennis with the aim of bringing many young people closer to sport and which, over the years, will also add other disciplines such as aeromodelling, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, basketball, volleyball, athletics, cross-country racing and billiards with thousands of young people who wear the Juvenes shirt – reads the same note -. The Juvenes Sports Club is preparing to organize the anniversary in the best possible way with initiatives and wishes to remember the presidents who have succeeded each other at the helm: Ferruccio Piva, Clelio Galassi, Alessandro Morri, Bruno Passerini and Luigi Zafferani with the current president Gian Battista Silvagni who, together with the various executive councils, have contributed significantly to the growth of Juvenes. We pay special homage, thanks and gratitude to the founder of Juvenes, don Peppino, for everything he has done over the years and who taught us and left us a legacy with the historic motto of the Serravalle Sports Society: ‘For the training morale and sport of youth”.
