Culture and Territory together for a project of consolidation, restructuring and enhancement of Palazzo Valloni
The Secretary of State for Culture Andrea Belluzzi and the Secretary of State for the Territory Stefano Canti met this morning in the presence of the Head of the State Archive and Library Dr. Lucia Cecchetti to discuss the best intervention strategies for resolution of the criticisms presented by Palazzo Valloni. Palazzo Valloni, one of the most prestigious buildings in the Republic of San Marino, requires major structural consolidation and restructuring interventions, i.e. waterproofing the roof, replacing the fixtures that have become unusable (also for the purpose of improving the energy efficiency of the entire building) and extraordinary maintenance of the fire-fighting system. These interventions are extremely necessary and cannot be further postponed in order to secure part of the building adjacent to the external cloister. Furthermore, in order to recover currently unusable spaces inside it, it is necessary to intervene with the transfer of the material placed inside the spaces of the former Ospedale della Misericordia. Having taken note of the current conditions of the property in question, the Secretaries of State for Culture and the Territory have agreed on the need to shortly submit a resolution to the attention of the Hon. Congress of State which provides for the authorization to funding necessary to start a general tender that provides for the resolution of all the critical issues encountered. Finally, a mandate will be given to the Planning Department of the AASLP to develop a project for the recovery of the spaces located at the entrance to Palazzo Valloni and to enhance the artistic, historical and cultural heritage present within the first floor of Palazzo Valloni.
