The 2023 winter transfer window has barely started when the SM Caen (Calvados) has already recorded two movements within its workforce. In the direction of arrivals, the club formalized, Monday, January 2, 2023, the reinforcement of the Swedish midfielder Anton Saletros (26 years).
Five goals and eight assists last season
Free of any contract, this Swedish international (1 selection) recently played in Norway, in Sarpsborg. The Norwegian season ended recently, and the left-hander Saletros concluded the 2022 financial year with five goals and eight assists in 28 matches. It is this activity that seduced the leaders of Caen, in search of a midfielder capable of playing forward and serving his attackers.
Trained at AIK Solna, the fourth Swede from SM Caen (after Kennet Andersson, Karl Svensson and Zeidane Inoussa) has played more than 130 matches with his training club, including 22 at European level. He has signed up until June 2025 with Stade Malherbe, where he will wear number 14.
A wanted attacker
In the direction of the departures, the SMC also announced the loan of the midfielder Iyad Mohammad at Le Mans FC (National). Very little used in the first part of the season (3 appearances in Ligue 2), the former Auxerrois will seek playing time on the lower floor.
We said we wanted to support him in his progress when he arrived, this loan goes in this direction.
The Mercato of the Stade Malherbe, currently 7e of Ligue 2, should continue in the coming days. The club does not hide its desire to recruit an additional striker.
