Minister Ersoy: Istanbul’s largest library at the opening of 13 January
Speaking at the opening of the Bakırköy Doğan Hızlan Library, Minister Ersoy expressed his satisfaction with opening new libraries in Istanbul and said that the literary critic and writer Hızlan is one of the listed people in the world of literature with his works and gentleman principles.

Noting that the library observations, which serve under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, reached 1257 in 2022, Ersoy said:
“We have restructured 167 public libraries, and 60 public libraries continue to improve. Rami Barracks will be both an art center, a national garden and a library that appeals to everyone. Minister Ersoy stated that the restoration of the library bearing Doğan Hızlan’s name was carried out by the Istanbul Directorate of Surveying and Monuments and the Istanbul Orhan Kemal Provincial Public Library Directorate, adding, “In the library, which has a total of 4 floors and a usage area of 900 square meters, there are reading-research halls, areas for disabled citizens, education and training facilities. There are activity halls where literary conversations can be held, painting-music workshops and sports activity areas. The library, which has a seating capacity of 180 people, will also have special collections belonging to the valuable writer Doğan Hızlan. Today, I would like to thank Mr. Hızlan for this gift. Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Ahmet Misbah Demircan, MHP Istanbul Deputy Arzu Erdem, Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Coşkun Yılmaz and AK Party Istanbul Provincial President Osman Nuri Kabaktepe were among the attendees of the event.
