Start slipping: hike on the Füssener Jöchle: women get lost and fall – girl (12) makes an emergency call
A 76-year-old woman fell 15 meters over a cliff edge on Wednesday when she was walking with a 49-year-old and a 12-year-old girl in the direction of the Füssener Jöchle in the municipality of Grän. When trying to help her, the 49-year-old also fell. The 12-year-old finally made an emergency call around 11 p.m.
Easy hike in the Tannheimer Tal
At around 11 a.m., the three of them set out on an actually easy hike in the direction of the Füssener Jöchle in the municipality of Grän. The two women and the girl were equipped with winter jackets and light hiking boots.
Wanderers get lost
However, on the way back to the parking lot, the women got lost. When they tried to get off anyway, the 76-year-old slipped and fell about 15 meters over a cliff edge, where she was injured.
The 49-year-old wanted to help her. However, when she tried to get down to her, she also slipped and fell a few meters. She stayed just above the 76-year-old.
Girl is severely hypothermic
The 12-year-old, who stayed above the cliff edge, made an emergency call around 11 p.m. on her cell phone. The Nesselwängle/Grän mountain rescue service rescued all three from their predicament. The rescue service then took her to the Reutte hospital. While both women were injured in the fall, the 12-year-old was severely hypothermic.
In addition to the police, there were seven emergency services from the Nesselwängle/Grän mountain rescue service, two ambulances from Tannheim with four emergency services and an emergency doctor on site.
