the Legallais logistics site a Saint-Andre-sur-Ornesouth of Caen (Calvados), also comes from surface doubler.
With a first building of 24,000 m2 (created in 2005 and enlarged for the first time in 2012), the hardware store Legallais has just moved to 45,000 m²foreseeing an extension of 3,000 m² in the existing and a new 18,000 m² building next door.
We were too cramped. In recent years, we have stored 11,000 m² of our products with our colleagues from Supplyweb in Mondeville. This extension will allow us to rationalize our space and reintegrate all our stock.
Objects over 60 cm or over 25 kg
This new warehouse is intended for bulky items from Legallais, which are more than 60 cm or more than 25 kg. Examples: broom handles, ladders, water heaters or shower parishes.
Transfers of objects between the old Legallais building and the new should be completed by the end of the year. The repatriation of the 11,000 m² of products from Supplyweb will take place between January and March 2023, at the rate of two trucks per day for three months.
Photovoltaic panels to cover heating and lighting needs
Custom built by landowner Argan, this 18,000m² building is fitted with photovoltaic panels. “There is no gas boiler.
The building is powered by the panels,” emphasizes Aymar De Germay, Secretary General of Argan. “Throughout the year, this building will produce 100% of its heating and lighting needs, and 50% of all of its energy consumption”.
