Decision: Innsbruck remains a fixed tour stop for Crankworx
Contract negotiations are complete: Crankworx Innsbruck is entering the next round. The mountain bike festival will take place next summer from June 21st to 25th in the bike park in Mutters. After six successful years, the successful Crankworx Innsbruck event will continue.
INNSBRUCK. The highlight of the European bike summer will be back next year ‘Cranworx Innsbruckbe. with Rotorua – New Zealand, Cairns – Australia and the grand finale in Whistler-Canada the Crankworx World Tour stops again at the most unique places on earth. Innsbruck is and remains one of the four highlights. On five festival days, athletes and fans can look forward to top-class competitions, a packed bike expo at the foot of the Muttereralm, kids’ worship and after-show parties. Ticket sales started punctually in spring, when the bikes are exchanged for winter gear again.
Innsbruck as a fixed place
The contract negotiations Crankworx World Tour and Innsbruck tourism Live successfully. It was quickly agreed that Innsbruck, after increasing its TV and digital reach six times, must continue to have a permanent place: “Crankworx Innsbruck is going into overtime. After a brilliant 2022 edition with renewed visitor records, the best festival atmosphere and sensational coverage, especially in social media, we are delighted that the world’s largest gravity mountain bike festival is once again making a guest appearance at Bikepark Innsbruck. Innsbruck has thus secured a permanent place in the calendar of the international bike elite and the local bike community.” says the new chairman of Innsbruck Tourismus, Peter Paul Molk.

Alpine sports city
Vice mayors stand on the side of the city of Innsbruck Johannes Anzengruber and Sports Councilwoman Elizabeth Maier firmly behind the contract extension. “As an alpine sports city, the city of Innsbruck has made it its mission to develop mountain bike sport and TOP events are part of it,” says Johannes Anzengruber. “If you look at the last six years of bike development, the decision was clear: growing touristic value creation and excellent coverage of the event – locals with strong international rankings – new MTB trails on the north side and the Muttereralm – mountain biking is one of the TOP 5 summer sports of Innsbrucker:innen – Crankworx works and therefore the decision to support a Crankworx extension was easy. I’m already looking forward to welcoming the world’s largest mountain bike festival, Crankworx, and its pros to Innsbruck in the summer of 2023.”

Georg Spazier and his team were again commissioned to implement the Crankworx Innsbruck Festival. The event agency ITS GmbH successfully implemented the last six editions of the mountain bike festival and successfully draws on many years of experience from large-scale projects such as the UCI World Cycling Championships or the new enduro.tirol tour.
