The Innsbrucker Haie want to make amends in Villach! – Hockey-News.info – All news about national and international ice hockey
After the 1:3 defeat in Asiago, HC TIWAG Innsbruck will get back on track as soon as possible. Best today in Villach.
The disappointment in the Haie camp after the bankruptcy in Asiago was great. Especially with head coach Mitch O’Keefe. “A few of you probably already had Christmas on your mind. Asiago won because she wanted it more,” said the coach.
Captain Jan Lattner looks similar: “We certainly didn’t show our best game in Asiago. But such games can happen. Maybe it’s good that we saw that we can’t stop working,” Lattner even tries to see something positive about the defeat. He is sure that his troops will show a reaction tomorrow.
“We are a really good team, we have great characters in the team. We just have to show our game for 60 minutes,” said Lattner, who knows, however, that the grapes are hanging high in Villach: “I’m expecting a tough, close game. We want to stay away from the penalty box, play well defensively and show why we’re in first place in the table,” says the HCI captain.
The Villachers are one of the hottest teams in the league in recent weeks. The Adler have won their 11 games since the last encounter against the Haie Mitte on November 8th, are in third place, and have a clean sheet against the Tiroler Heuer, having won both of their previous encounters (6:5/OT win in Innsbruck, 4-3 victory in Villach). However, both games were on the razor’s edge, and so there is a good chance that tomorrow will be another make or break battle.
