There are major train delays due to difficult weather conditions on the Vestfold Line, and a train in Sandefjord has to be evacuated. Freezing rain causes power problems.
The emergency services assisted the evacuation of a train in Sandefjord. The train stopped just before Sandefjord railway station. At 22.40 Vy informed NRK that the evacuation was over.
Freezing rain has caused a lot of trouble for Vestfoldbanen on Sunday evening. The track is closed for the rest of the operating day between Drammen and Skien.
– We hope that the trains will be in operation again tomorrow, says press officer Kaja Rynning Moen in Vy to NRK.
Waited in fire timer
Earlier this evening, a train was stuck at Skoppum outside Horten for several hours. At 19.45 one of the passengers fell over inside the train set, and the conductor had to call an ambulance. At 20:00 the passenger was taken out on a stretcher.
At 20.45 a new set of trains arrived from Drammen to pick up the passengers stuck at Skoppum.
They had then been stuck for over four hours due to the demanding snow conditions.
– Its nothing. I have a daughter with the flu, says Michelle Levy, who has her daughter Louise on her lap.
They have been waiting for a total of four hours.
– I complained in the city about the heat, now fortunately they have turned it back on. But the problem is that there is no service. I have previously been on a train that has stopped and there have been questions about coffee, tea and food, she says.
Had to share food
Initially, she had expected the train journey to take just under an hour, so she didn’t pack much.
– We hardly have anything with us. It’s just luck that I had two baby food in my bag, says Levy who had to share baby food with Hanane el Bouyahyaoui and her son Jada Ali Saadi
The children are a little over a year old. They were going to a family party, but had to cancel. Now they just want to be allowed to come home
– There is no information. I’m going crazy, I think it’s really bad. There is no information about reimbursement, no information about whether we have the option of taking a bus or a taxi. It’s not possible.
The police are warning
On Sunday evening, the police also report very slippery roads in Eastern Norway, writes NTB.
Cars across large parts of Eastern Norway end up in the ditch or on the side of the road. It is very slippery and the police are asking people to drive carefully.
At Gjøvik, a car drove into the ditch in Kvennomslinna. The driver had to go to the emergency room, and the car suffered extensive damage, the police in the interior report.
At Ørmen in Fredrikstad, a car skidded off the road, but no one was injured.

In Gvarv in Telemark, six people and two cars were involved in an accident. One of the cars ended up in a field, while the other was left on the road. It was blocked in both directions. Fortunately, none of the people were injured – but the cars were heavily damaged, according to the Sørøst police district.
