This is how the “Merry Christmas Norway” broadcasts will be on TV 2
Little Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve, the “Good morning Norway” gang is in place with “Good Christmas Norway” to give TV 2 viewers the best start to the Christmas days. Exciting and interesting guests, good music and a Christmas atmosphere are even on the menu – and in the kitchen Wenche Andersen and Christer Rødseth are ready to, among other things, solve the viewers’ rib crises.
“Good morning Norway” presenters Vår Staude and Peter Moi Bubresko lead this year’s Christmas broadcasts on TV 2 Direkte and TV 2 Play. On 23 and 24 December, they will be in place from 8am to 10am on TV 2 Direkte. And on TV 2 Play you can broadcast either directly or later in the day if you wish.
– In a time when things are a little more demanding than before, it costs a little more to find the good old Christmas spirit. We would like to help give you the best start to the most magical days of the year, says presenter Peter Moi Bubresko.
– It’s always great to lead the Christmas broadcasts; a Christmas stocking filled with good interviews, good food, good atmosphere, lovely music – a touch of rest for those who have finished their preparations or as a good friend who cheers you on towards your goal while you iron, bake, decorate or wrap presents, says the presenter Spring Perennial.
Peter and Vår get great Christmas guests in the studio at Aker Brygge. On Christmas Eve, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre arrives. On the same day, the artists Bjørn Eidsvåg and Emma Steinbakken will also come – both featured in the TV 2 program “Hver gang vi møtes”, which premieres on 1 January.
The Christmas music in the broadcast Little Christmas Eve is in the best hands: Alexandra Rotan opens the program with “Når the sky falls down”, Truls Svendsen and Charlotte Smith perform “Når julefreden senker seg” – the song they won the program series “Norges new megahit” with last year, and then Turab comes and plays the Christmas ballad “Der du er”. Turab is also relevant in “Kompani Lauritzen” on TV 2 in the spring.
And the Christmas food we also pay great attention to. Wenche Andersen and Christer Rødseth are together in the kitchen on both 23 and 24 December. Little Christmas Eve solves the viewers’ rib crises and answers viewer questions, while the focus on Christmas Eve is directed at the desserts.
In the “Merry Christmas Norway” broadcast on Christmas Eve, we meet =Oslo salesman and poet Sondre Foyn Gullvåg, who composed his own Christmas poem together with Eva Weel Skram. Eva also performs “Time with soft packages”.
Mari Maurstad comes to the Christmas Eve broadcast with her sons Scott, Aslak and Stinius for both a good chat and Christmas carols. Together with them is also Malin, whom Stinius met, and got together, in the TV program “Love IRL”. She now lives with the Maurstad clan full time.
The music will also be provided by Kåre Conradi, who together with three musicians will play “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”.
Kristin Gjelsvik is on hand to talk about her first Christmas without her husband and children, and that she will spend Christmas evening opening the house to 25 strangers.
Ingebrigt Steen Jensen comes with her partner and her two teenage daughters. They talk about their Christmas celebrations and about life with the Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
Emma Ellingsen and TIX are coming. And the former sets out its ambition for 2023.
And then comes YouTuber Simen Andersen. This summer, he experienced that his little brother Daniel passed away, aged just 18. Both were affected by the rare disease Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and had the YouTube channel “Daniel and Simen” together.
In addition to guests in the studio, there will be features from several places in the country: Reporter Malin Saue Johansen visits a mountain church and a hospital in Hallingdal, both of which are travel destinations during the Christmas season. And reporter Knut Torgersruud gets into the spirit of Christmas when he visits the “Alternative Christmas” event in Oslo, where 800 volunteers are ready to welcome guests who, for various reasons, fall outside the traditional Christmas celebration.
Presenter Peter Bubresko is looking forward to these Christmas days with “Merry Christmas Norway”, although he would also like to be at home with his family, where Christmas is extra special.
– For me personally, little Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve are as much about birthdays as Christmas. My twins, Marie and Sebastian, turn six on 23 December, while my partner was born on Christmas Eve itself. The fact that I’m at work and don’t get to wake them up and congratulate them in the morning is a bit sad, but fortunately the day and evening are long, says Peter.
And Vår Staude is betting that this year’s Christmas will be an upturn compared to last year’s version of the holiday.
– This year I’m looking forward to it a lot after I got the corona virus just before Christmas last year and had to spend the pre-Christmas period alone in isolation in the mountains. Because of corona, we also didn’t get to celebrate Christmas as we had been looking forward to for a long time, together with all the children. Instead, we sat here and there, each to our own to avoid infecting others. It was incredibly sad, says Vår.
Watch “God jul Norge” on TV 2 Direkte and TV 2 Play on 23 and 24 December from 08.00.
