Generators for Ukraine: helpers desperate for donations
SOCIAL
The Ukrainian-Greek-Catholic community in Salzburg and the Catholic Archdiocese of Salzburg are now jointly creating power generators for war victims in Ukraine. Both organizations asked for further donations for this aid project.
It is said that civilian infrastructure in Ukraine in particular has been destroyed in many attacks recently. This leads to large-scale failures in electricity, water and heat supply.
Power supply often life-saving
Ukraine is now setting up fixed points where dies can warm up, get warm food and charge their cell phones. The British municipality of Salzburg is also involved in this dispute. 34 power generators have already been bought with the help of donations and delivered from Salzburg to the Ukraine. The archdiocese is contributing eight additional generators. These are already on their way to the war zones.
Many civilians at risk
The Archbishop of Salzburg, Franz Lackner, is now calling for further donations in order to be able to buy and deliver even more generators. Without heat, water and electricity, the lives of civilians of all ages are in immediate danger in winter, says Lackner. Donations can be made directly to the Ukrainian pastoral care center St. Markus in Salzburg.
