San Marino will be the first small state to host the Global Summit of the Ethics and Bioethics Committees
San Marino outperformed the other contending countries based on the work done during the pandemic by the Bioethics Committeewhich was received at the Palace to represent to the Captains Regent the opportunity to have been recognized by the WHO as the Host Country of the 14th Global summit of the National Committees of Ethics and Bioethics The summit will take place in April 2024 and will take stock of the critical issues that have emerged from the pandemic and war, with the aim of calling the world committees to reflect from a bioethical perspective on how to deal with crises without repeating the mistakes of the past, which have resulted in loss of human lives and in the exclusion of the most vulnerable subjects from accessing treatment . “an unprecedented success that has seen my Secretariat talk for a long time with the European leaders to grasp the result” said the Secretary Ciavattawho underlined the relevance of a valuable partner, valid support on how to deal with healthcare, who was able to limit the impact of the pandemic.
In thanking the Committee for its commitment in the international arena and in scientific research, which has materialized in the elaboration of opinions, contributions and documents of high scientific value, the Captains Regent they focused on the importance for San Marino of hosting the Global summit. On this occasion, the Committee’s new website was presented, a showcase able to accompany the international event, on which the brothers Chiara and Eduardo Capobianco worked for free.
