Perpetrator caught: Police arrest suspected donation container robber
After the robbery on December 15 at Mirabellplatz and a search that quickly lasted a week, a suspected perpetrator has now been identified. He was arrested in the city of Salzburg and transferred to the Salzburg prison.
SALZBURG. Last week, a robber attacked Max Luger’s well-known donation container on Mirabellplatz. He brutally beat the 73-year-old and stole his donations. On December 17, the Salzburg police released mug shots. According to a police report, several people then came forward with information about the perpetrator. The suspect was found and arrested this afternoon in the Elisabeth suburb of Salzburg. He is part confessor.
The raid
On Thursday, December 15, Max Luger was attacked in his “Fair Share” donation container. The perpetrator entered the container around 10 a.m. He knocked out Max Luger, gave him a few more punches in the face and robbed him. He stole almost 2000 euros. It was Max Luger’s second robbery in two weeks and he said it was the same perpetrator. The 73-year-old, who was traumatized by the attack, told ORF that he would now stop his donation container project. This violent experience was too bad to continue. More about this here:

search and arrest
After the police published mugshots over the weekend, some people came forward with clues to the perpetrator. When the suspicion against a 21-year-old substantiated, the public prosecutor ordered the arrest. At the end of the intensive search, the suspect was found on Wednesday, December 21, in the toilet facility of a public building in the Elisabeth suburb. He was arrested there immediately. The alleged perpetrator has partially confessed. The officials took him to the Salzburg prison in Puch.
