How much does it cost to build a (good) gaming computer? In Portugal, we have to spend almost two thousand euros
Picodi, a platform that offers discount codes at various online stores and allows cashback on purchases, gathers the values of various gaming components to understand how much it costs to build a gaming PC.
In Portugal, it is necessary to spend almost two thousand euros (more specifically, 1885 euros) taking into account the “most popular components in 2022” from the list Steam Hardware Research🇧🇷 the most expensive is, as you would expect, the graphics card: a RTX 3060 costs 495 euros.
Of the seven components indicated by Picodi, the six-core processor (239 euros) and the motherboard (156 euros) follow; the cheapest purchase will be the SSD disk, with 1 TB: 81 euros. This list also includes three peripherals (mouse, keyboard and headphones) and a 24-inch monitor (230 euros).
Picodi also recalls that it is necessary to add a Windows license, whose price is «145 euros», and spending on games: an average gamer will buy one, per month, which will amount to «684 euros» at the end of the year.
This platform also made a relationship between the cost of setting up a gaming PC in fifty countries and the average salary: Portugal is in 21st place with 1885 euros corresponding to 1.8 panels (average value of 1034 euros).
Switzerland is where it will be most affordable to create a PC of this type – 1621 euros corresponds to 0.3 average apartments; on the opposite side is Argentina, where having a gaming computer is almost a super-luxury: 4150 euros, 12.5 times an average salary in this South American country.
