In Salzburg, police officers seized numerous weapons and Nazi memorabilia during a house search in an apartment in the state capital on Tuesday morning. In the living room of the 71-year-old resident, the officers found three rifles, six handguns, a total of 30 bayonets, swords, daggers and knives, numerous medals, helmets and flags and small amounts of ammunition. The Salzburger is displayed after the prohibition law.
During his interrogation, the accused stated that he had the collection from his father. He was in the German Navy during World War II and died years ago. During the house search on behalf of the Salzburg public prosecutor’s office, officers from the Cobra task force, the State Criminal Police Office and the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Combating Terrorism (LVT) were also deployed.
At first it was not known how the investigators became aware of the man and whether the 71-year-old might have had contacts with anti-state scenes.
