Anti-hunting protests, Verducci acquitted and two activists convicted of insulting
On the one hand, the reasons of citizens and activists, frightened or annoyed by shots too close to homes, on the other the hunters who ask to exercise regular hunting activity. That the positions that have found themselves in opposition before in October 2019 in the Capanne area, and subsequently in court, he could not find a conciliation in the courtroom, it seemed clear from the start. And in fact the trial was limited to verifying whether in the episodes in Fiorentino that followed the campaign #SanMarinoControLaCaccia by Francesca Verducci there have been insults and private violence to prevent hunting activity, in the manner that the law allows.
Not the latter: the Law Commissioner has in fact acquitted of this charge both Verducci and the five activists of the Italian MAC movement who in two episodes went up to the Titano to support the social campaign with pot lids and bollards warned to keep the game. For two of them only remained standing the insult and were sentenced to a daily fine of 150 euros each and a provisional fine of 500 euros, as requested by the Tax Attorney’s Office. The affair, which arose from a complaint by some hunters and by Federcaccia itself (five hunters had filed a civil action) after three years and an initial filing, thus ended with the acquittal of Francesca Verducci, defended by the lawyer Enrico Carattoni.
The woman had started the social campaign because of those dots that sometimes arrive on the terraces or against houses.“I am a mother who exposed herself in this way to save the safety of her three-year-old daughter – she said after the sentence was read – my goal is to be able to ensure that my family can enjoy the garden in safety “ The regularity of the distances was one of the strong arguments of a process that will certainly not be able to normalize the problem. “Sometimes the general and abstract law – said the prosecutor of the tax authorities not surprisingly – does not adapt to all cases in life”.
