Two arrested for attempted murder in Lisbon’s nightlife area
A man and a woman were arrested for attempted murder with a firearm committed early Saturday morning in the parish of Estrela, in Lisbon, in an area where nightlife spaces are located, announced this Sunday to PSP.
According to the Metropolitan Command of the Lisbon PSP (COMETLIS), the two suspects were arrested at 5:30 am on Saturday in the parish of Estrela, as part of the Fábio Guerra project, which provides for visibility policing near nightlife establishments on Avenida 24 de Julho , Largo de Santos and surrounding arteries.
The arrested woman is suspected of having shot several times at two men.
The PSP also said that the detained man is suspected of having received a firearm, of caliber 6.35 mm, used by a woman, which was recovered and seized by the authorities.
The two detainees were presented to the competent judicial authority in the first judicial interrogation, which decreed the coercive measure of pre-trial detention (the most serious) to the suspect.
The man who received a firearm was subject to an identity and residence term.
According to the PSP, the Judiciary Police were notified of the occurrence.
The Fábio Guerra Program is a Special Proximity Policing plan created by the Government to prevent crime in nightlife areas and is named after the PSP agent who died following the brutal attacks suffered two days earlier at a nightclub in Lisbon .
