Innsbruck keeps Bolzano at a distance
The TIWAG Innsbruck Haie are still three points ahead of Bozen Südtirol Alperia in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The Tyroleans celebrated a 4-3 win at home against Olimpija Ljubljana on Sunday and thus left the ice as winners for the second time in a row. Bolzano celebrated a 7:4 home win against Hydro Fehervar. The Moser Medical Graz 99ers (3-0 at Red Bull Salzburg), the spusu Vienna Capitals (4-1 at Pioneers Vorarlberg) and the KAC (4-3 after a penalty shoot-out against Pustertal Wölfe) were also victorious.
An average performance is enough for the Innsbruckers to defeat the Slovenians once again. Double goalscorer Adam Helewka (9th, 47th), Tyler Coulter in a double majority (33rd) and Corey Mackin (40th / PP) ensure the seventh win in a direct duel with the “dragons” in a row. The Grazer goals against Salzburg were scored by Gustav Bouramman (16’/PP), Andrew Michael Yogan (40′) and Viktor Granholm (50′). Dominique Heinrich (60./PP) only managed to score the goal for the defending champion.
Bukarts as a match winner for the KAC
In front of 2,896 spectators, Rihards Bukarts became the match winner for KAC with the converted penalty. The 26-year-old Latvian had already scored in the middle of the third period to make it 2-2. His team had previously twice come from behind. Finally, the second success was fixed in the third encounter with the wolves from South Tyrol.
The Vienna Capitals only had trouble in Feldkirch in the first half, where they had to follow a 0-1 deficit. Armin Preiser (25th), double packer Jeremy Gregoire (28th / SH, 56th / PP) and Nikolaus Hartl (31st) still ensure clear conditions for the guests. They won again after four games without a win and five unsuccessful attempts away from home.
