Shooting sports: Air rifle youth league Innsbruck: Quarter-final entry for Tyrol
As the start of the new Bundesliga season, the first main round of the air rifle youth Bundesliga took place on December 17th at the main shooting range in Innsbruck-Arzl. On this day, the teams from Tyrol and Vorarlberg competed for the quarter-finals for the western region. Each team consists of four shooters, with three teams in the young shooters in Tyrol having the largest concentration of participants in this ranking. With this placement, the two best teams in each class were able to secure their ticket for the quarter-finals, which are planned for February 11 in Thalgau.
A total of three rounds were carried out on this day, in which the teams Tirol 1 (Mia Grosch, Helena Lanthaler, Maximilian Kowatsch and Marcel Szentannai-Günel), Tirol 2 (Lisa Hafner, Lisa Fankhauser, Sophie Wiehle and Julia Pfister) and Tirol 3 ( Maximilian Grubhofer, Carmen Sieberer, Julia Rauter and Laura Köll) between and against the selection from Vorarlberg for a place in the quarter-finals.
In all three rounds, the selection of Tyrol 1 was the superior winner. Already in the first round, Grosch, Lanthaler, Kowatsch and Szentannai were able to win against Team Tirol 2 with 19:13 points. While Vorarlberg was also able to win against Tirol 3 in this round with 24:8 points, Tirol 1 continued its triumphal march in round 2: with 31:1 points against the Tirol 3 team, overall victory was already within reach. Tirol 2nd consecutive document for the Vorarlberg selection with 14:18. In the decisive duel Vorarlberg against Tirol 1, a superior home win was achieved with 24:8 points. This means that the team Tirol 1, which was happy about the first place in this main round, together with the team from Vorarlberg in second place, is sure to reach the quarter-finals. The selection Tirol 2 was able to achieve third place in the final duel against Tirol 3.
The second main round of the Austrian air rifle youth league in the youth 2 class will also be held on January 14, 2023 at the main shooting range in Innsbruck-Arzl, with the Tyrolean teams fighting against the teams from Upper Austria for a place in the quarter-finals.
