presented the publication on the flora of the territory
all the vascular flora of the Republic collected in a scientific volume to study and preserve it. This is the goal of the volume “Flora of San Marino”, a review of all floristic data and an update using new data from the field. An important study for San Marino able to provide an overview on which plants are currently present and a comparison with the situation at the beginning of the twentieth century.
“It is the result of several years of research – he explains Alessandro Alessandrini, Romagna Naturalistic Studies Society – in which some researchers from San Marino have played an essential role and this is a real novelty and other specialists from other places. We also did a comparison of the historical flora of 1930 with what we have found, therefore measuring the changes that have taken place in these 90 years of San Marino history”.
Very important, in addition to the scientific aspect, that too didactic that San Marino is pursuing with the Naturalistic Center and local schools as highlighted by the director of the education department Laura Gobbi. Significant work also in the Italian context and under the aspect of territorial protection.
