Paoletti athlete of the year: San Marino delivers the Oscars to its champions
The bowls world champion also received the Fiamma d’Oro, an emblem which recognizes the merits demonstrated in favor of San Marino sport. The same prize goes to Enrico Dall’Olmo, winner of the bronze medal at the world bowls championship
A State… Family. And the idea that the Republic of San Marino is the same at a sporting level was further underlined yesterday evening at the “Sportinsieme Award” review, organized by the San Marino National Olympic Committee chaired by Gian Primo Giardi. In the presence of all the institutions and, first of all, of the Excellencies captains regent (Maria Luisa Berti and Manuel Ciavatta) as well as the secretaries of state for Sport and Health Teodoro Lonfernini and Roberto Ciavatta, the evening saw the award as Athlete of the Year 2022 Stella Paoletti who conquered the gold in pairs at the Mediterranean Games (the president of the International Committee Davide Tizzano was also present) and the world bowls title at the end of November in Turkey.

Having said that the annual magazine of the Olympic Committee “Panorama Sport” was also presented for the occasion, it should be remembered that the State of San Marino has won 13 medals with its athletes in the last two years: in the evening presented by Giulia Mizzoni and Palmiro Faetanini, in addition to the victory as “Athlete of the Year”, Stella Paoletti also received the Golden Flame, an emblem with which the Council recognizes the merits demonstrated in favor of San Marino sport. Recognition that also went Enrico Dall’Olmo, winner of the bronze medal at the world bowls championship in Mersin and two medals (silver and bronze) at the Mediterranean Games and at the San Marino Baseball club for his sixth national title. In the evening, the naming of a field (on the 2nd, where he won the first trophy) of the Fonte dell’Ovo Tennis Center after Simone De Luigi, the youngest of the tennis team who tragically died in the summer, was made official.
