By Abhishek Mishra: The Uttar Pradesh government has claimed that the team of ministers and officials, who are holding road shows and meeting industry groups in foreign countries, are successfully attracting investors as there is likely to be an inflow of Rs 15,000 crore of foreign funds.
According to official sources, the UP government on Thursday received significant investments from Sweden. Swedish companies are ready to invest in retail, tourism and waste management in the state.
The Yogi government has also received six MoUs worth Rs 1200 crore from Vancouver, Canada, which proposes to create 600 employment opportunities.
There have been extensive discussions with investors in countries like America and Singapore, in an effort to make Uttar Pradesh an attractive location for investors.
A delegation led by Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Nandi and Public Works Minister Jitin Prasada also met the Swedish business community during a roadshow on Thursday in Stockholm.

Occasionally, various Business to Business (B2B) and Government to Government (G2G) discussions were held on investments in sectors such as defence, textiles and apparel, food processing, automobiles and electric vehicles, renewable energy, waste and water management, and transportation.
On the other hand, the Additional Chief Secretary (Sports and Youth Affairs) Navneet Sehgal and other heads of government of Uttar Pradesh assured the Swedish business community about the dedicated investment opportunities and the strength of the state.
Notably, the delegation also visited the IKEA Gallery in Stockholm. Cerner, a Swedish construction company, proposed to invest Rs 10,000 crore in the film city project in Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, Boson Energy proposed an investment of thousand crores for the Waste Energy Project, while investment proposals of about 40 crores related to tourism were also received.

In Vancouver, Canada, the UP delegation led by Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana and Animal Husbandry Minister Dharampal Singh received several investment proposals.
The delegation signed six investment proposals (MoUs) with the business community, costing Rs 1200 crore. These investment proposals are related to IT parks, manufacturing units of aluminum and kitchen materials, hotels, etc.
These investment proposals are likely to create employment opportunities for more than 600 people. The delegation also met with the Speaker of British Columbia, Raj Chauhan, and discussed the opportunities to invest in the state.
