San Marino. A literary review to address some crucial issues in the history of the world
On Sunday 18 December, from 3.30 pm, in the hall of the Sapignoli Historic Mill Museum in Poggio Torriana, the review of five cultural and literary meetings entitled Stories for another world – past and present will kick off.
The initiative of Aiep Publisher San Marinoin collaboration with the Friends of the Sapignoli Mill APS and with the patronage of the Municipality of Poggio Torriana, it foresees the intervention of scholars, writers, artists, operators, involved in various ways in processes of dialogue between peoples.
The contributions of the speakers will accompany the presentation of the books of the Melting Pot series, published by Aiep, aimed at promoting fiction from the countries of the South of the world, by authors originating from African, Asian and Latin American countries.
The series, born in 1993 from an idea of Eleonora Forlani and Teresa Palazzolo, has published works aimed at promoting knowledge of societies whose literatures are often considered minor.
Instead, it is precisely this writing that puts us in contact with a richness capable of contaminating the European literary tradition and finally generating the only true culture of our time.
The theme of the first meeting will be “Romagna and the South of the World” which will see as speakers, the actor of the Teatro delle Albe in Ravenna, Luigi Dadina with The richness of wealth, the scholar and operator Laura Gambi with Living in another land and the creator of the Melting Pot series, Eleonora Forlani with Literature and theatre, avant-garde projects?
During the meeting, the books Awa who lives twice and The streets of Lena, both by Laura Gambi and Griot Fulêr by Luigi Dadina and Mandiaye N’Diaye, will be presented.
‘Betrayed peoples’, ‘Below the Sahara’, ‘Women’s Iran’, ‘The legacy of migrants’ are the titles of the future meetings that characterize the review. The last of the meetings sees the presence of the French-Algerian author Azouz Begag, former Minister for Equal Opportunities in the French government.
Each appointment will be accompanied by music and tastings of typical local products offered by the Friends of the Sapignoli Mill APS Association.
