Manhunt is underway: a well-known fundraiser is attacked for the second time
A hitherto unknown perpetrator attacked Max Luger’s well-known donation container “Fair Share” yesterday morning in the city of Salzburg. The 73-year-old was struck down and robbed. This is the second raid on him in two weeks.
SALZBURG. Just two weeks ago, Max Luger’s donation container in Salzburg was attacked. Now the same perpetrator is said to have struck again. On Thursday around 10 a.m. he brutally hit Max Luger in the face and stole donations in the four-digit range. Police are appealing for witnesses to help with the manhunt. According to his own statements, Max Luger will stop his donation container project after the traumatic experience.
Brutal Attack
On Thursday, December 15 at 10 a.m., the 73-year-old fundraiser Max Luger was collecting for the needy with his “Fair Share” donation container at Mirabellplatz. Suddenly a stranger attacked him. The man knocked him out, punched him several times in the face and robbed him. According to ORF reports, he may have stolen around 2,000 euros. The rescue took the injured fundraiser to the state hospital.

The police are pursuing the perpetrator and are asking witnesses for help. Just two weeks ago, Luger’s donation container was attacked. He is certain that it was the same perpetrator. According to ORF, the victim gave the following description. A young man, around 25 years old with black hair. According to the police, the attacker is said to be dressed in dark clothes and of Southeast European type. He is said to have fled the scene on a bicycle. As the police confirmed to the Salzburg regional media, there are also surveillance camera recordings of the attack. These are currently being evaluated. There should also be a witness who filmed the crime. You are asked to report to the police.

In an interview with the ORF, Max Luger explained that he would now discontinue his “Fair Share” donation container project. After the traumatic attack, he’s just had enough.
“I will never set foot in the container again because of what he did to me. I don’t want to anymore,” says Max Luger.
