Initiative: Archdiocese wants to bring “courage people” in front of the curtain
The Archdiocese of Salzburg invites parishes during the Advent season to find so-called “courage people”.
SALZBURG. The “Mutmensch” initiative is intended to bring people in front of the curtain who encourage other people through their life story or their role model function.
Courageous people in the city of Salzburg
Some parishes have already found their courageous people, including the Taxham parish in the city of Salzburg. There, the artist Monica Argentino, among other things, translates the theme of courage into pictures. The pictures are exhibited in the church and on every Sunday in Advent musicians will play a piece of music. For the pastoral assistant there, Szidonia Loerincz, courage means: “To pick people up where they are: whether in joy, sorrow or peace.”
Peter Ebner from the city of Salzburg is also an encourager. He is a pastor for the elderly in Hellbrunn and Nonntal. As St. Nicholas, he wants to encourage young and old in difficult times. The theologian says: “Saint Nicholas stands for more justice in the world. It brings joie de vivre to young and old. That gives courage.” For him personally, courage means: “Finding and strengthening the potential of each individual.”
Archbishop Franz Lackner also supports the campaign: “Confidence gives courage to act and has a contagious effect on others. In view of the current challenges, it is small signs that make great fortunes,” says the archbishop.
The action of the Archdiocese of Salzburg will continue until Christmas.
