After Paris-Milan, Trenitalia plans to open a new line between Paris and Madrid
A million trips. The symbolic bar was crossed less than a year later the arrival of Trenitalia on the Paris-Lyon-Turin-Milan line. However, it is impossible to tell Roberto Rinaudo, president of Trenitalia France, what is the turnover generated by this activity and what are the losses recorded in the first year of operation.
On the occasion of a press conference held on Wednesday December 14 not far from the Gare de Lyon in Paris, the leader mainly returned to the success of the first trains. An occupancy rate of 70% on average and 80% on the Paris Milan, against 50% for the journey between Paris and Lyon. In 2023, the offer remains five round trips per day on this route, and two to Milan. “Above all, 37% of travelers had never made the train journey before the arrival of Trenitaliarejoices Roberto Rinaudo. This confirms what we assume. The arrival of a new operator complementary to the incumbent operator promotes the arrival of new travelers. And if Trenitalia has planned to continue to develop, nothing is planned for 2023.
