Wind turbines in the Baltic Sea can block an important winter road for Sweden – Eye on the Arctic
- Several large-scale wind farms are planned in the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Finland.
- Now the Swedish Maritime Administration is warning that the wind turbines could cause problems for the planned expansion of the industry in northern Sweden.
- The wind farms risk blocking the way for the icebreakers that are necessary for cargo ships to be able to operate in the northern Baltic during the winter.
