Fürstenried: Car crashes into guardrail
On Monday, December 12, 2022, at around 4:00 p.m., a 42-year-old resident of Munich drove a Mercedes car on Boschetsrieder Strasse in the direction of the A 95.
According to the current status of the investigation, the 42-year-old lost control of the car due to an internal illness, which caused him to leave the lane on the right and crash into the crash barrier. As the collision continued, his car was steered across all three lanes of the road in his left-hand direction. He then collided with two light poles on the green strip there. Shortly thereafter, his vehicle stopped in the opposite lane of Boschetsrieder Straße.
At the same time, a 24-year-old resident of Munich with a Peugeot car and a 29-year-old resident of Munich with a Skoda car were looking at each other. Nobody was injured in the accident. An ambulance took the 42-year-old to a hospital for further investigation.
Major property damage was caused to the vehicles involved, so they were towed from the scene of the accident. The crash barrier was slightly damaged and the light poles were totally damaged. The total damage is estimated at around 50,000 euros.
While the accident was being recorded, Boschetsrieder Strasse had to be closed in both directions for almost three hours. There were traffic delays.
The Munich traffic police took over the further investigations.
