KAC – Vorarlberg 1: 3: After a win against Salzburg, a bitter defeat against Vorarlberg followed
The personal situation hardly improved compared to the Salzburg match. Of the sick, only Rihards Bukarts and Niki Kraus from Latvia are returning, so the red jackets represented 14 field players and two goalkeepers against the Vorarlberg Pioneers. Luca Gomboc was not available, he had to move into the Slovenian U20 national team.
The hardships from the game against Salzburg left their mark on the Klagenfurt team. The Redjackets lack intensity and were always a tad slower than their opponents. So the Vorarlbergers had an easy time playing a comfortable lead in the first 20 minutes. Sebastian Dahm had to get the disc out of its case three times. At first, Stefan Metzler was not hindered in the end in front of the box, at 0:2 the guests played a two-on-one counterattack perfectly. Hampus Eriksson didn’t give the Danes a chance to defend themselves. Layne Viveiros was not attacked in his own zone, the defender unhindered hammered the disc into the net to make it 3-0 for Vorarlberg. KAC also had chances in the first 20 minutes, but lacked consistency to score a goal.
Little changes in the second section, the Klagenfurt team couldn’t get the tiredness out of their legs. The Vorarlbergers found a large number of chances to extend the lead. However, the fourth goal didn’t want to succeed, either Dahm was an insurmountable hurdle or they failed due to their own inability. It was the same with KAC, they just couldn’t get over their ex-keeper, and they did it quite awkwardly.
Postma with a hammer
In the last third, nothing changes for the time being, the red jackets were not able to score the first goal. Paul Postma broke the spell with a violent shot just under eight minutes before the end. The KAC started a final offensive, but no further goals wanted to succeed. After the terrific victory against Salzburg, there was a bitter defeat against the bottom of the table.
