The “loneliness” of working fishermen in the Bosphorus, the world’s most active sea life, around a huge sea, says a lot about life. Expressing that he always wanted to do a project in Istanbul, Hasan Cem Araptarlı said, “I have shot on water in various parts of the world before. I know the water well. But the Bosphorus is a very different, much more challenging place that belongs to us. I’ve always wondered what’s going on here. In these shots, there is patience, there is effort, there are beautiful people and they have real lives.”
