We were playing the 94ᵉ minute and we were heading for a draw which corresponded quite well to the physiognomy of the game when, on a final corner awarded by the referee but contested by the Caennais, Paul Le Herpeur volleyed the center from Kevin Blaecke to catapult the ball under the bar.
The victory came from choosing the Avranchinese camp and these three points are therefore welcome for a team which is struggling at the bottom of the classification. For the Avant-Garde, on the contrary, it’s a cold shower and Léon Valentin’s teammates will have to “ruminate” these two consecutive setbacks during the mini-truce which are coming and which will spoil their end-of-year celebrations.
The AGC had yet opened the scoring
If nothing very notable happens in the first half on the two cages, with the exception of a courageous dive by Wilfried Bedfian in the feet of Yann Godart from the 2nd minute and the same intervention by Nathan Bisson in front of Kévin Goba (44ᵉ), the game however, was not uninteresting, because there was rhythm and commitment but the two blocks well in place on each side annihilated all the offensives.
Obviously, the Caennais, on returning from the locker room, had decided to push their actions. Following a careless error from Paul Leherpeur, Malcom Perian had a wonderful opportunity to open the scoring but it was without counting on a superb save from Nathan Bisson (48ᵉ) then Zourab Sopromadze who takes volume with each outing, seen his strike skims the amount. The opener was getting closer. She was going to intervene on a penalty following a hesitant and finally uncontrolled exit from Nathan Bisson who hit Younès khédir (1-0, 56ᵉ).
Unfortunately for them, Olivier Meurillon’s men were not going to keep this advantage for very long. After nearly scoring the goal of the break dismissed by a dive from Nathan Bisson on his line, the Blues will concede the equalizer following a free kick in the box that Edouard Leroy was quicker than his opponents resume with a diving header ( 1-1, 66ᵉ). In additional time, it took a superb flight from Wilfried Bedfian to divert the shot from Edouard Leroy (91st). It was “backing up to jump better”.

Olivier Meurillon’s reaction
“We are disappointed with the result because we hope for better and with the circumstances of the match. Compared to Saint-Lô, we were better in spirit. In the first half, it was a tactical match and a real opposition of styles. We were in difficulty but without conceding the slightest opportunity. After the break, we were more aggressive and we had more chances. I especially regret not having kept our lead longer and even not having made it bear fruit. We concede two goals from a set piece. We certainly lacked concentration and responsiveness. That’s a shame ! »
