Salzburg AG is waiting for high profits on parcel boxes
Business
There are now 336 myflexbox locations in Austria. The parcel box company managed by Salzburg AG is to continue to grow strongly, and a European investor is now being brought in for a board. In the next few years, the company is expected to grow so strongly that a planned sale will generate a decent return.
Private individuals use the parcel boxes to receive and return parcels – dealers can thus indirectly extend their opening hours and hand over their goods contacts even without an online shop. Now a financially powerful private equity fund specializing in investments in the areas of transport and logistics is to step in. Private equity funds collect capital and invest it in shares in companies with the aim of later selling them for a profit. The profits generated by the fund are later passed on to the donors.
25 million will be granted in startup
25 million euros are to be granted from this fund over the next few years in order to generate further growth. The goal for Salzburg AG is to sell the company profitably in the near future: “Digital startups from Salzburg AG should be supported and promoted and the parcel box company has developed well and found a solid market and now it’s time for the next steps. Strategic partners who invest in the company are brought in,” says Wilfried Haslauer (ÖVP), Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Governor.
Projected profit of 50 million for 2028
In the next four to six years, Salzburg AG will part with the company and “receive the corresponding investments and surcharges,” says Haslauer. In 2026, myflexbox should be in the profit zone, for 2028 a profit of more than 50 million euros is then forecast.
