Red Bull Salzburg is struggling with an unusual series of defeats. Battered by many sick and injured players, the Bulls recently lost five times in a row. Defender Dominique Heinrich is still trying to stay positive.
Heinrich told the “Salzburger Nachrichten”: “Fortunately, this series is in November and not in April, otherwise the play-offs would already be over for us.” The Bulls are currently struggling with many failures. During a road trip, some players caught the flu and are still battling it.
Currently three centers are missing with Bourke, Baltram and Wukovits, a total of two full offensive lines are missing, which means that problems with scoring goals are inevitable. “It’s not fun at the moment, but you also have to get through situations like this,” says Heinrich.
But the program doesn’t really get any easier, on Friday you have to start the difficult journey to Innsbruck, on Sunday Bozen is a guest in Salzburg. In addition, two international matches will take place on December 15th and 16th, for which Roger Bader has called up four Bulls in Lukas Schreier, Paul Stapelfeldt, Lukas Thaler and Tim Harnisch.
Some players from the Red Bull organization are also at the U20 World Cup in Canada, but at least the farm team is taking a break. Heinrich that the hospital will soon clear: “Every player who is currently coming back helps us.”
