Gungnir Resources Inc drills more near-surface nickel and identifies a new footwall nickel target at its Lappvattnet deposit in Sweden
Gungnir Resources Inc. (TSX-V:GUG, OTC:ASWRF) has announced additional near-surface drill results and images at its Lappvattnet nickel deposit in Sweden, which included 7.0 meters (m) of 1.2% nickel.
The mineral exploration company also said the LAP22-19 drill hole intersected a new footwall nickel target about 75 meters below the main Lappvattnet deposit.
“It looks like we may have the start of a new footwall nickel target in the central part of the deposit, adding further potential at Lappvattnet,” Gungnir Resources CEO Jari Paakki said in a statement.

“So far, with longer boreholes, we have six footwall hits over a strike length of about 100 meters in the central part of the Lapland where it remains mostly open along strike and at depth,” Paakki added.
The company noted that assays are ongoing for 13 holes, all of which are located within the central part of the Lappvattnet and include mineralized intervals from the main Lappvattnet deposit and the new footwall target.
Gungnir’s nickel sulfide resources in Sweden include the Lappvattnet and Rormyrberget deposits, which together contain 177 million pounds of nickel, according to the company.
Gungnir Resources is a Canada-based, TSX-V listed mineral exploration company with gold and base metal projects in northern Sweden.
