Award: Johann Schwaighofer received the “Salzburg City Seal”
Pastor Johann Schwaighofer was awarded the Salzburg city seal in silver.
Mayor Harry Preuner honored pastor Johann Schwaighofer for his services with the Salzburg “City Seal in Silver”.
Stands up for people in the parish association
For his services to the city of Salzburg, Salzburg’s mayor Harry Preuner bestowed the silver city seal on pastor Johann Schwaighofer in his office in Mirabell Palace.
“Despite your reliable area of work, you are always close to the people in your parishes,”
Responsible mayor Harry Preuner his word to the pastor. Schwaighofer not only takes part in religious but also in secular events. The pastor is firmly rooted in his parish association and is committed to the people living there.
To Johann Schwaighöfer
Schwaighofer was born on November 10, 1962 in Niederndorf near Kufstein – he also recently celebrated his 60th birthday. After his school days in the Borromäum, he began studying theology in Salzburg in 1983 and was ordained a priest in 1992. During his cooperation period, he spent three years in Tamsweg and two years in Seekirchen.
In 1998 he was appointed pastor of Wals, from 2013 to 2017 he was also pastor of Großgmain and pastor of Walserfeld. Since 2011, Schwaighofer has also served as Dean of the Bergheim Deanery. After 20 years as a Walser pastor, he faced a new challenge and took over the parishes of Salzburg-Gnigl, Salzburg St. Severin and Salzburg-Itzling as pastor. He took up residence in the Itzlingen vicarage. On September 1, 2020, he also took over the parish of St. Andrä.
