German Limehome raises 45 million and enters Portugal through the Porto escarpment – Turismo & Lazer
With more than three thousand apartments contracted in seven European countries, the German Limehome has just closed a round of financing of 45 million euros to “expand to other European markets”, now increasing its presence in the Old Continent “with the opening of the eighth country” – Portugal.
“The European leader in hotel technology and operator of fully digitized ‘serviced apartments’, Limehome, enters the Portuguese market with the signing of the first project in Porto”, advances the company, in a statement.
This is the construction of a development with 14 apartments in the middle of the Porto escarpment, in the Fontainhas area, which will be “developed with Regensburg, the local strategic partner”, and “overlooking the Douro river, the Luís I bridge and monuments such as the Monastery of Serra do Pilar”, emphasizes Limehome
The also German Ratisbona is the promoter of the overwhelming majority of supermarkets of the German chain Aldi in Portugal.
The value of the investment is not disclosed.
Meanwhile, the serviced apartment operator based in Munich promises to accelerate its presence in our country. “Limehome is currently looking at different projects at an advanced stage, not only in Porto, but also in other Portuguese cities. Portugal is a very attractive country for both leisure and corporate guests, with a growing international demand”, says José Llosa, director of growth and real estate at Limehome Iberia.
Limehome considers Lisbon and Porto as “key cities for its growth, without discarding other potentially interesting destinations for its business model, which allows it to operate in cities of different sizes, both capitals and smaller cities, with different types of demand, as well as in a wide variety of real estate properties”, he explains.
