Get ready, the “Beast of the East” may be coming… and leave Portugal frozen and “shivering with cold”!
The cold, intense, could be about to reach Portugal and comes from Siberia.
The “Beast from the East” is a common phenomenon but one that hoped to reach southern Europe.
If the conditions remain for it to be verified, Portugal may be affected and, in December, the country may freeze.
But what is the “Beast from the East” phenomenon anyway? This is a concentration of very cold air that should reach Central Europe and then the Iberian Peninsula.
The information is advanced by “El Tiempo” which reports on the probability of this phenomenon reaching Portugal and Spain.
This phenomenon occurred in 1956 and left the European territory under intense cold.
According to the Spanish website “El Tiempo” there are still no absolute certainties about the direction of this cold air, but the probability of reaching Spain and Portugal is high.
A phenomenon that already happened in 1956 and led to one of the coldest winters ever in Europe, including several areas of Spain and Portugal that reached negative temperatures.
The forecast points to the arrival of this phenomenon in early December. It is not yet certain that this can happen as there are changes that can be registered, even so “navigation patterns and trends point to a significant possibility of such a situation”.
