Price increases: start of the toy exchange in the city of Salzburg
With the toy exchange, families should be relieved in times of price increases. The aspect of sustainability is also the focus of this campaign.
SALZBURG. With the “Shining Children’s Eyes” campaign of the Stadt-SPÖ and the “Toy Box” a Christmas wish is to be fulfilled again this year for children from families in economically tense situations.
“Last year, around 100 handwritten letters with wishes for Santa Claus fluttered to us,” said SPÖ Deputy Mayor Bernhard Auinger. Due to the current price increases, many letters are expected again this year. “Especially before Christmas, many parents got into financial difficulties due to the current rise in prices and find it difficult or impossible to fulfill their children’s Christmas wishes,” emphasizes Auinger.
A toy exchange for the first time
In addition, the campaign is supplemented for the first time today with the “toy exchange”. Used toys can be handed in at the three locations Eduard Jakub Heim (Salzburg South), Stanislaus-Pacher-Haus (Elisabeth Vorstadt) and Franz Bell Heim (Lehen). “These are collected, checked and can then be picked up free of charge on four dates by parents and children who want to give these toys a second chance,” says SPÖ district manager Vincent Pultar.
Toys can be handed in on the following days: December 2, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Eduard Jakub Heim, December 2, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and December 3, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Stanislaus-Pacher-Haus and on December 6, 4 to 6:15 p.m. at Franz Bellheim.
The toys can then be picked up on December 8, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on December 9, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Stanislaus-Pacher-Haus, on December 13, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Eduard Jakub Heim and on December 15 , 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Franz Bellheim.
