Increased electricity and gas bills in San Marino, the future Republic: “Citizens are not ATMs”
“Secretary Lonfernini takes it out on the opposition because they did not participate in his public evening. We are sorry to have disturbed, but you will be patient if we have decided not to attend the umpteenth occasion in which the government has confused the minds of citizens, giving for the umpteenth time the umpteenth numbers that do not correspond to those provided just a few days or a few weeks ago”.
Furthermore, RepubblicaFuture says she is “satisfied with the fact that, also thanks to her own institutional activity, it has been avoided that electricity and gas bills increase by 100 and 130%, something that Lonfernini had supported wholeheartedly!”.
“The government must talk less and do more on these issues – remarked the leader of the minority party, Nicola Renzi – putting in place measures to calm the impact of the increase in gas and electricity which, from an initial estimate that we will analyze in the coming days, for electricity amounts to +83% for families that consume less and +10% for those who consume more, with an evidently totally distorted effect; which adds up to an overall increase of more than 100% in gas tariffs. What is the government waiting for to do something?”.
“The Authority’s decision needs to be reviewed – comments the councilor of the future Republic, Andrea Zafferani – making the increases more sustainable and more progressive, which are capable of playing those who consume more and not on the contrary those who consume less. On gas, there is no reason why you should pay more than 1 euro per cubic meter for gas, when the AASS, also due to the effect of the insurance contract they have signed, pays it net much less; citizens are not an ATM! These are decisions of a political nature, which have an important impact on families and businesses, the government must take responsibility for the choices”.
