Didn’t sell enough in Norway – sent five tonnes to Ukraine
Many frowned when Grilstad launched Jubelsalami with licorice earlier this year.
Now operations director Morten Letnes at the meat food producer confirms that the product was not a success.
– Fewer people liked it than we imagined. It happens all the time with all the actors, he says Address newspaperwho mentioned the matter first.
According to Letnes, they produced a batch of the rice salami that they thought the grocery chains would be able to sell.
So that didn’t happen, and Grilstad was left with “a few tonnes” of unsold salami sausage. In order not to throw anything away, the product was greatly reduced in price.
Letnes states that they also sent around five tonnes to the Food Center and around five tonnes to Ukraine as aid.
– There it has been used for combat rations, says Letnes to the regional newspaper.
