Support the local economy: give locally with the Inn-Taler voucher
Anyone who doesn’t want to spend their money on international Internet giants can give local shopping vouchers this year. The Inn-Taler is the new, contactless currency for Innsbruck and a counterfeit-proof successor to the city center gift coin. In the meantime, 800,000 euros in Inn-Taler credits have been generated – the Tyroleans have already spent around half at the around 80 Inn-Taler redemption companies.
INNSBRUCK. The Inn-Taler is a popular gift for employees in local companies. Inn-Taler customers are, for example, the IKB, the MCI®, the Tyrol Chamber of Commerce and the City of Innsbruck, but also many medium-sized companies. They have all given away around 600,000 euros in Inn-Taler in the past 20 months.
Tyrolean quality: currently around 80 Inn-Taler partners
Local shops, restaurants, service providers and excursion destinations benefit from the Inn-Taler. Because the added value stays in the region, which ultimately contributes to the quality of life in Tyrol. Specifically, 80 Innsbruck businesses currently accept the Inntaler as currency. These include Intersport in the Tyrol department store, Tyrler since 1825, Stiefelkater shoe store, the St. Anna pharmacy, the Breakfast Club, the Weisses Rössl, the Metropol cinema and the Alpenzoo, to name just a few.

Gift voucher and digital as an app
The forgery-proof Inn-Taler is the successor to the inner-city coin. It is available as a practical voucher card or as a digital app on your smartphone. Payment with the Inn-Taler works easily by scanning a QR code and is therefore secure and contactless.
400,000 euros flowed back to companies
In the past 20 months, around 800,000 euros in Inn-Taler credits have been generated. Half, i.e. around 400,000 euros in Inn-Taler vouchers, have already flowed back to the 80 participating companies in Innsbruck. By Christmas, the magic threshold of one million euros in credit should be brought into circulation.
“The more credit that gets into circulation, the more people come to Innsbruck to redeem their vouchers. This brings frequency, direct income for the companies, added value for the entire region and also helps to keep Innsbruck as a lively city with atmosphere,” says Michael Perger, chairman of the Innsbruck center association.
