Edu moves from Liverpool, Leeds and Switzerland as an Arsenal Gazump star; Bruno Guimaraes slams Ronaldo on Newcastle talk
Arsenal are leading the hunt for a £30million-rated Swiss attacker, Bruno Guimaraes has delivered a scathing message about Newcastle United’s ties to Cristiano Ronaldo, while Thursday’s transfer Gossip claimed Man City are in talks for a legendary Real Madrid star.
NOAH OKAFOR WILL LIKELY MOVE ARSENAL
Arsenal are fighting their way to the front of the queue to sign Red Bull Salzburg forward Noah Okafor in January.
The Gunners sit proudly at the top of the Premier League having recorded 12 wins in their first 14 games. And while some doubt they can pass the title course, Rio Ferdinand recently dubbed them “the real deal”, highlighting four key stars.
However, club bosses know they remain second favorites to win the title behind Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side are five points adrift after losing to Brentford in their last game before half-time.
And to maximize their prospects, Arsenal owners are preparing to make money available to strengthen their squad in January.
Around £60m will reportedly be made available for this purpose. and TEAMtalk has revealed the Gunners have at least two goals in mind for January.
Their #1 target is apparently Shakhtar Donestk star Mykhaylo Mudryk. But having shone in five goals in six Champions League games, his side are now asking £87.5m (€100m) for the star. Understandably, Arsenal will now refrain from such a deal.
However, Mikel Arteta and co have a plan B option in mind with Okafor.
The Swiss attacker drew attention to himself with excellent performances for Salzburg. The forward, who can play either down the wing or down the middle, has scored 10 goals this season. This record includes three out of six Champions League games.
Arsenal are ready to meet Noah Oka to claim the prize
In this form, Okafor is linked to a number of sides including Leeds, AC Milan, Chelsea and West Ham. And Tuesday’s Transfer Gossip claims he’s also under the watchful eye of Liverpool and Manchester City.
However, the daily mirror claims a move to Arsenal is now on the cards.
Salzburg are asking a fee of £30m (€35m) for the sale of Okafor in January – a price Edu believes represents good value for money.
Therefore, the newspaper claims that they are pushing to finalize a deal before the player plays in the World Cup.
The prospect of Okafor’s exit isn’t lost for Salzburg either, although they’d happily wait until Qatar is finished in 2022.
Speak with Sky Sports Austria, said club sporting director Christoph Freund: “I think there will be a little more happening on the transfer market than in recent years. Okafor really took off last year.
“I hope he plays a good World Cup, then Noah Okafor’s stock can become very interesting. I can’t handle it [his sale] out.”
BRUNO GUIMARAES HAS NO CONNECTIONS FROM RONALDO TO NEWCASTLE
Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes has poked fun at suggestions Cristiano Ronaldo could sign for the Magpies in January.
The 37-year-old Portuguese star is looking for a new club after blasting United in a no-holds-barred TV interview. Indeed, reports on Thursday claim Erik ten Hag has delivered a brutal two-word verdict on the star’s future at Manchester United.
Now that Ronaldo is destined to leave Old Trafford, a number of top clubs have distanced themselves from his signature.
However, the latest to be linked with a move for Ronaldo is Newcastle. And reports in Portugal claim his agent Jorge Mendes has been in talks with the ambitious Newcastle owners about a possible deal.
newcastle, despite being owned by the ridiculously wealthy Saudi-backed PIF, have not won any real superstars since taking office. In fact, their money was much wiser spent. And the approach appears to be paying off as Newcastle are third in the Premier League with just one defeat from 15 games.
Guimaraes himself has certainly proved to be one of the best signings during this period. That’s right The player has taken his place in this season’s top 10 Premier League players.
However, when asked about a possible deal for Ronaldo, Guimaraes says it would prove to be a mistake.
“I think Newcastle need players for that [right] The mentality isn’t about signing everyone just because they have money,” he said. “It doesn’t bring Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Mbappe. It’s not like that.”
He added in quotation marks performed by the Sunderland Echo: “The way I promised to come to the club was also something remarkable.
“Today everyone wants to come to Newcastle, the richest team in the world. But I arrived with the team doing poorly, pointing out that they’re practically relegated.
“[Kieran] Trippier and I were the first to believe in the project, so the fans have a special affection.”
MAN CITY TALKS TO TONI KROOS
Manchester City are reportedly looking to negotiate with Real Madrid over a nosedive for Toni Kroos in January.
The veteran German star is just a matter of months away from the end of his contract with Los Blancos. He has been there since the summer of 2014 and has won three LaLiga titles and four Champions League trophies. He has also played almost 400 times for the club.
The 32-year-old player can talk about a free overseas transfer from January 1.
As such, The sun reports that City are at the front of the queue to sign the player.
He is hesitating about a new deal and claims he would like one last professional challenge. And a move to Manchester Citywhere he could reunite with Pep Guardiola seems like just the ticket.
The Spaniard managed Kroos in 2013/14 when Bayern won the double.
And the midfielder recently said: “Guardiola fought for me to stay at Bayern until the last day. I really enjoyed the year with him, he improved me a lot.
“If I have to choose a coach that suits my game perfectly, it’s Guardiola.”
