Portugal with France, Turkey, Greece, Romania and Israel in the Volleyball Euro2023 – Observer
Portugal will have opponents at the 2023 Volleyball European Championship as a runner France, Turkey, Greece, Romania and Israelhost of group D in Tel Aviv, said this Wednesday the draw held in Naples, Italy.
Euro 2023 will take place in Italy, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Israel, from August 28 to September 16, 2023, involving a total of 24 subscribers, who will compete in the first phase in four groups of six passengers.
Portugal secured qualification for the final stage of the European 2023 with the triumph in qualifying group D, ahead of the arrivals of Montenegro, second, Luxembourg, third, and Iceland, fourth.
Italy, reigning world and European champions, will compete in Group A, with representatives from Serbia, Germany, Belgium, Estonia and Switzerland, and will have the advantage of playing at home from the group stage until, eventually, the matches of the medals.
Bulgaria, which jointly organized the 2015 European Championship with Italy, receives group B in the final phase in Varna, which also includes as a model Slovenia — runners-up in title — Ukraine, Croatia, Spain and Finland.
Group C in Skopje brings together hosts North Macedonia and arrivals from Poland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Denmark and Montenegro.
The first four classified in each of the groups of the regular phase qualify for the round of 16, to be played in Italy (groups A and C) and Bulgaria (groups B and D).
Portugal, which will be present in a final stage for the seventh time, third in a row, made history in 2021, by qualifying for the round of 16 of the European Championship, played in Estonia, Finland, Poland and the Czech Republic.
