Take out your coat, the weather will change radically in Slovakia
The weather in Slovakia has been relatively stable during the last few days. However, according to the portal iMeteo will soon become a thing of the past. The warm weather in our territory lasts approximately until Thursday, while in some areas the temperatures will rise to 20 degrees Celsius. So you should enjoy the next few days, because the heat won’t be there soon.
A significant change will come already on Friday, when the weather in our territory will be affected by a cold front. Together with the moving area of low pressure, it will bring heavy precipitation that will last in Slovakia until Saturday. First of all, we will receive a few significant precipitations. The Tatras should also expect snowfall.
So precipitation will also bring cooling. Already during the coming weekend, you will reach above 10 degrees Celsius. However, this temperature only applies to the warmest regions of Slovakia. The others should be prepared for a temperature lower than 10 degrees Celsius.
The good news is that after these days we will say goodbye to the mists. According to Meteo Slovensko, the weather will start to change already this evening (November 1). “From the west, a cold front will marginally affect us, which provides an inversion layer. Exceptionally, it will also rain lightly,” informs Meteo Slovensko that we will feel the cooling most significantly on Saturday night.
we should be careful on the night from Saturday to Sunday, when the temperature dropped to freezing. This mainly threatens several lower-lying places. “Frosts are expected even outside the mountains, mainly in central and even extreme western Slovakia.”
Records were falling
The last few days in Slovakia were pleasant and sunny, in some areas temperature records were even set. The warmest was difficult Slovakia, where at first there were fogs, but they were replaced by sunny weather and temperature. According to iMeteo, the temperature record was broken, for example, on Orava, where the temperature rose to 22.3 degrees Celsius at the Rabča station.
During the weekend, the high temperatures also pleased the neighbors Czechia. At the Vimperk station, they measured up to 26.6 degrees Celsius, which is unheard of at the end of October. In addition to Vimperk, unusual temperatures were also measured in other areas. At Měděnec station, 24.1 degrees Celsius was recorded, and at Nová Ves v Horách station, it was 24.5 degrees Celsius. To make matters worse, records were set for more than 80 stations during the full days.
Today it was cloudy and foggy in our territory. In the mountains and locally also in lower positions, clear to semi-clear. Occasional drizzle. Very warm in sunny weather. The SITA agency informed about it
The highest daily temperature is kept at the level of 12 to 17 degrees Celsius, with reduced cloud cover 17 to 22 degrees Celsius. The temperature on the mountains at an altitude of 1,500 meters reached around 16 degrees Celsius.
